Chlorine Dioxide
Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) is an excellent biocide for use in water treatment. It has an extremely fast and effective microbial kill rate even at very low concentrations and can be safely used in many different applications including drinking water and water used in food production, making it the biocide of choice for many industries.
It is an extremely effective biocide that is highly recommended for use where the control of microbiological activity is required. Due to its chemical characteristics it is ideal for controlling surface and waterborne bacteria, the control and removal of stubborn biofilm and it has consistently been shown to be the best biocide for eradicating Legionella, the causative organism of Legionnaires' disease; the Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA) has recommended ClO2 as the best available technology for control of Legionella in both hot and cold water systems.
